We are so excited to invite you to the “2022 Music & the Arts” at Vision Church!
This fun, evening camp is open to ALL kids in our community and gives them the opportunity to explore their talents.
At Vision Church, we believe that no child should grow up feeling like they aren’t good at anything. It’s important for every child to realize that they ARE created with talents and abilities that come straight from our Creator – and that’s pretty cool!
Students will choose 2 classes to participate in throughout the week of camp. Wednesday will be a special night that we call the “Finale Presentation.”
Parents, neighbors, friends, and family are invited to join us on Wednesday night to enjoy presentations based on the hard work the students have invested in their camp classes.
SESSION 1
Woodworking (Ages 5-12)
Students will assemble projects in wood, using simple tools and techniques. We’ll emphasize safety in our explorations, and the pleasure of making things and completing them to take home. Projects will be displayed for the Finale Presentation. Students should wear clothes that can get dirty. All supplies are included.
Visual Art 1 (Ages 5-8)
Students will explore various mediums of art that utilize drawing and painting. Art will be on display at the Finale Presentation. Students should wear clothes that can get dirty. All supplies are included.
Cake Decorating (Ages 5-12)
Students will learn basic cake decorating skills and have fun eating their creations. Cupcakes will be served at Finale Presentation. Students should wear clothes that can get dirty. All supplies are included.
Visual Art 2 (Ages 9-12)
Budding artists will build skills through hands-on activities like painting and drawing. Art will be displayed at the Finale Presentation. Students should wear clothes that can get dirty. All supplies are included.
Sewing Arts (Ages 9-12)
Students will learn basic sewing skills. They will also create a project for themselves that will be displayed at the Finale Presentation. All supplies are included.
Photography (Ages 9-12)
Students will receive instruction on camera angels, still & moving picture taking, and also lighting. Photos will be printed and on display at the Finale Presentation. Student must have a digital camera or smart phone to use in the class.
SESSION 2
Kid Dancing (Ages 5-8)
Students will learn a collection of worship songs with dance moves to perform in the Finale Presentation.
Handbells (Ages 5-12)
Students will learn how to play handbells and basic music theory. They will perform in the Finale Presentation.
Choir (Ages 5-12)
Students will learn the basics of music – and have fun! They will also learn songs to perform in the Finale Presentation.
Drama (Ages 9-12)
Students will learn the basics of stage presence & performance. Through games and funny scripts, kids will find out how much fun it is to be on stage! They will perform in the Finale Presentation.
Songwriting (Ages 9-12)
Students will learn how to write songs. In this class they will go over the basic format that most Pop Songs are written in today! Students will have the option to perform in the Finale Presentation.
